The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi released a book comprising 1000 songs penned by Vairamuthu at the Le Royal Meridian Hotel in Chennai on January 2nd 2011. The highlight of this book is the summary of the situation in which each of the song has been written.
The CM, during his speech, recalled the 30-year association with the poet and said that he never failed to call him up every morning to discuss various issue. He added that they would talk about politics, movies, Rajini and Kamal.
Several noted personalities from the film industry including K Balachander, Vaali, AR Rahman, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Shankar, Rama Narayanan, VC Guhanathan, SP Balasubramaniam, Yesudas, P Suseela, Janaki, KS Ravi Kumar and SP Muthuraman graced the occasion.
