Actor Suriya has been vigorously promoting the Billion Hearts Beating campaign spearheaded by The Apollo Hospitals in partnership with Times of India. Recently, Apollo Hospitals and Loyola College conducted an event to create more awareness about this campaign and increase the number of pledges taken by people and this event was marked by the presence of Suriya who along with the students and several staff members, took a pledge to fight against heart diseases. Suriya also encouraged people to pledge for this campaign for the wellness of themselves and others. The Billion Hearts Beating campaign which mainly focuses on creating awareness about the alarming increase in heart diseases was launched in April 2010 and has received over 104012 pledges until now.
