Trisha was roped in for her first Malayalam film opposite heart - throb, Prithviraj, but things did not pan out. The film is called Hero and will be directed by Deepan. Trisha however had a little trouble accommodating the film as she did not have bulk dates to allot. She did her best to juggle the dates but ultimately she had to bow out.
The makers immediately zeroed in on Shriya Saran for the role. Shriya has done Malayalam films in the past with some of the biggest names in the industry like Mammooty, Mohan Lal, and Prithviraj. So the makers felt that she would fit in perfectly and will be the perfect replacement. Srikanth whose career is on the verge of a major resurgence is also a part of this cast.
