Malayalam movie August 15, which is the sequel to the 1988 release August 1, is to be dubbed in Tamil. The film stars Mammootty, Shwetha Menon, Meghna Raj, Nedumudi Venu and others. Incidentally, Mammootty had played the lead role in the 1988 version too. The dialogues for the Tamil version will be written by popular dialogue writer M Prabhakaran.
August 15 is an intense political thriller and hence the film is devoid of any songs. The film is directed by popular Malayalam director Shaji Kailas.
The story of August 15 revolves around a Crime Branch Officer played by Mammootty who thwarts the assassination attempts on the CM.
