Manmadhan Ambu and Kamal Hassan came under severe
criticism from a caste-based organisation in the state
for allegedly hurting sentiments of a certain section
of the society. The subject in question is a song,
which has been written and sung by Kamal Hassan for
Manmadhan Ambu. It was also appealed that the objectionable
song be removed from the movie.
Putting an end to the controversy, Kamal Hassan has
released a statement today mentioning that the song
in question has been removed from the movie considering
the interests and claims of so many people involved.
He also claimed that this song, which has become a
popular number in FM channels and TV channels already,
was not written or included in the movie to hurt anyone
intentionally. It can be recalled that the movie has
been given a 'U' certificate by the censor board.
