Minutes after New York recorded its highest number of COVID-19 deaths in 24 hours, U.S. President Donald Trump took to social media and criticized the World Health Organization (WHO) of being too focused on China. He also accused China of issuing bad advice during the coronavirus outbreak.

President Trump further targeted the health body on calling it “China-centric”. "The W.H.O. really blew it. For some reason, funded largely by the United States, yet very China centric. We will be giving that a good look. Fortunately I rejected their advice on keeping our borders open to China early on. Why did they give us such a faulty recommendation?," Trump tweeted.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day,  New York recorded its highest number of COVID-19 deaths in 24 hours, as 731 people died from the new coronavirus which brought the state's total death count to 5,489. Till date, the deadly COVID-19 has killed more than 11,000 people in the United States.

This current outburst by President Trump could be a hint at a change in funding WHO, which was largely funded by the US. Earlier last month, Trump had downplayed Coronavirus's effects and called it a 'Chinese virus'. Check out Trump's recent tweet below:
