Global coronavirus death toll hits 100,000 cases over 1.6 million

As per a Reuters report, after the first death in China's Wuhan city, it took 83 days for the first 50,000 deaths to be recorded. But touching the mark to 100,000 it just took eight days.

The current global death toll is now being compared to London’s Great Plague that took place in 1660's, which killed more than 100,000 people.

The novel coronavirus is believed to have emerged from Wuhan market where animals are slaughtered and sold. This virus spread through China and around the world.

Looking at positive cases across others countries, Italy, France, Algeria, Netherlands, Spain and Britain have been reporting more than 10% of all confirmed cases.
