As the world struggles to battle the spread of the novel coronavirus, identifying the antibodies to come up with the vaccine has been top priority. In laboratories across the globe, scientists have been trying to discover the same. Italy however, seems to have cracked the code as the tests carried out at Rome's Lazzaro Spallanzani National Institute for Infectious Diseases proved that a potential vaccine has generated antibodies in mice which will also work on human cells.

This is the most advanced stage of testing for a potential vaccine in the country, Aurisicchio, CEO of Takis, which is the firm that is developing the medication, told the Italian news agency ANSA. He also added that their firm is likely to partner with an American firm. "This is not a competition. If we join our forces and skills together, we can all win against coronavirus.”

This vaccine will be tested on humans from this summer. Further, according to the report, this vaccine helps in effectively activating the immune system and generating the antibodies to fight the spike protein in the lung cells. This vaccine is also reported to have the capability to fight any future mutations of the virus.
