In a first, Archana Ramasundaram, a 1980-batch IPS officer from Tamil Nadu, has been named the director general of Sashastra Seema Bal, which is a paramilitary outfit deployed on the north eastern border areas. In 2014, she was appointed the additional director of the Central Bureau of Investigation.
