Polling is being held for 95 seats including 38 in Tamil Nadu, 14 in Karnataka, 10 in Maharashtra, eight in Uttar Pradesh, five each in Assam, Bihar and Odisha, three each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, two in Jammu and Kashmir and one seat each in Manipur and Puducherry. While, elections are also being held in 35 assembly constituencies in Odisha.

Voter turnout recorded in Tamil Nadu for 9 am and 10 am

According to Outlook, the voter turnout recorded in Tamil Nadu till 9:00 am is 13.48%. A delay in polling has been reported from a few constituencies owing technical glitches with the EVMs.

Meanwhile, DMK chief MK Stalin reached a poll booth to cast his vote at SIET College in Teynampet. Minutes earlier, his sister and fellow party leader Kanimozhi also cast her vote at a Chennai poll booth.

Media reports say that, voter turnout update till 9:00 am:Manipur (1): 1.78%; Odisha(5): 2.15%; Tamil Nadu (38): 13.48%; Uttar Pradesh (8): 3.99%; West Bengal (3): 0.55%; Chhattisgarh (3): 7.75%; Puducherry: 1.62%; Manipur (1): 1.78%; Assam (5 seats): 9.51%; J&K (2 seats): 0.99%; Karnataka (14 seats): 1.14%; Maharashtra (10): 0.85%; Odisha(5): 2.15%; TN(38): 0.81%; UP(8): 3.99%. 

The voter turnout recorded in Thoothukudi or Tuticorin was 7.98% till 9 am. Thoothukudi is being regarded as one of the key electoral battles in Tamil Nadu as political heavyweights of the state - BJP's Tamilisai Soundararajan and DMK's Kanimozhi - are contesting from this seat.
