Tamil Nadu on Monday, 24 May, reported 805 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases in the state 17,082.
Of the 805 fresh cases, 93 are passengers returned from other States (Maharashtra - 87, Kerala - 2, Andhra Pradesh - 1, Gujarat - 3).
Seven persons succumbed to the virus on the date taking the death toll of the state to 118.
State Health Minister Vijayabaskar said 88 per cent of people tested positive for the virus in Tamil Nadu were asymptomatic while the remaining 12 per cent showed symptoms.
