Objecting to this, CM wrote a letter to Ramesh Pokhriyal, the Minister of Human Resource Development. In his address, CM Edappadi wrote that the number of coronavirus cases are increasing rapidly in the state. This might endanger the safety of the students. Further, he also cited that the state government had previously planned on conducting the board exams for class 10 but ultimately couldn’t.

EPS has also elaborated that various students have travelled back to their hometowns which will make it difficult for them to give exams. He added that various educational institutions have been turned into COVID facilities. Hence, asking students to return to campuses for giving their exams is not the best option, he said.

Citing all of the aforementioned reasons, he has mentioned that it is not possible to hold the final year exams before September as instructed by the UGC.
