The Tamil Nadu police have registered cases against 4,100 people in the past two days for violating Section 144.
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy had earlier said strict legal action would be taken against those who violate the curfew.
The government and the police department have been continuously appealing to people to go on quarantine and to not step out unless for compelling reasons.
Six new positive cases of Coronavirus were reported from the state on Friday taking the total number of positive cases to Thirty-five.
