A few weeks ago, a major mishap was averted in Thirumangalam where two trains were traveling in the same track. It was later found out that the mishap happened due to not understanding the language. A non-Tamil station master failed to understand the information sent by another station master and had sent the train instead of holding it.

The announcement has come following the incident. So, reportedly, a circular stating not to use state language Tamil and to use Hindi or English to communicate in order to avoid miscommunication, reports Puthiya Thalaimurai.

However, following the criticism by politicians and civilians and officials, Southern Railways' General Manager Rahul Jain has announced to take back the circular. Earlier today, DMK MP Dhayanidhi Maran and DMK members have met Rahul Jain and gave a petition to take the circular back.
