It was 9.30 PM on Saturday (January 18) night when the 24-year old woman and the 20-year-old guy were attacked by a gang of 3 members. Reportedly the couple were in a relationship and spending time after work when the incident happened at the park located in Vellore fort.
According to the reports the woman and man were working in a clothing shop in Vellore when they fell in love with each other. While spending time at the park in Vellore fort, 3 people who were heavily influenced by Ganja booze threatened the couple and then snatched the gold earrings from the woman at Knife-point. Then they brutally attacked the woman's boyfriend and isolated him near a tree in the park.
Later the gang sexually molested the woman and escaped the place. After the incident, the boyfriend rescued his girlfriend and managed to drop her at her residence. The woman's parents were extremely shocked after learning about the incident and raised a complaint at the Adukambarai police station. Followed by the complaint the police began their investigation with the woman's boyfriend and arrested the accused on Sunday (January 20).
The identities of the accused were revealed as, Manikandan (41), Ajith (19) and Sakthinathan (18). All the three belong to Kaspa Vasanthapuram near Vellore fort. Reportedly the accused were already involved in several dacoity cases. The Adukambarai police officers have rolled out further investigations on the accused.
