COVID-19: TWO DEATHS, 54 NEW POSITIVE CASES IN TAMIL NADU; DETAILS LISTED

Tamil Nadu on Thursday, 23 April, reported 54 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases in the state to 1683. Of the 54 new cases, 27 were from Chennai alone.

COVID-19: Two Deaths, 54 New Positive Cases in Tamil Nadu

The state’s death toll rose to 20 after it reported two deaths on the date.

The following is the COVID-19 statistics of Tamil Nadu as of 23 April:

Total number of passengers under home quarantine – 23,303

Total number of passengers in government quarantine facilities – 106

Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities – 34 (23 government and 11 private)

Total number of samples tested till date – 65,977

Total number of samples tested today – 6954

Total number of persons tested till date – 59,952

Total number of persons tested today – 6880

Total number of suspected individuals in isolation ward admission – 1787

Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 752

Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 90

Total number of active cases on date - 908

Total number of deaths till date - 20

Number of ventilators available – 3371

Number of isolation beds available – 29,074
