COVID-19: BIG SPIKE IN TAMIL NADU, 105 NEW CASES REPORTED; ADDITIONAL DETAILS LISTED!

Tamil Nadu on Sunday, 19 April, reported 105 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases in the state 1477. Of the 105 new cases, 50 were from Chennai alone.

The state reported no death in the past 24 hours.

The following is the COVID-19 statistics of Tamil Nadu as of 19 April:

Total number of passengers under home quarantine – 21,381

Total number of passengers in government quarantine facilities – 20

Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities – 31 (21 government and 10 private)

Total number of samples tested till date – 40,876

Total number of samples tested today – 5,840

Total number of persons tested till date – 35,741

Total number of persons tested today – 5,744

Total number of suspected individuals in isolation ward admission – 1,987

Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 411

Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 46

Total number of active cases on date - 1048

Total number of deaths till date - 15

Number of ventilators available – 3371

Number of isolation beds available – 29,074
