In a shocking case, a 23-year-old woman was arrested for killing her husband by adding sleeping to his dosa.

The woman has been identified as Anupriya, who strangulated her husband in his sleep with a help of a friend. The incident took place on October 13, when Anupriya mixed sleeping pills in the dosa batter and served her husband for dinner. 

As soon as he slept, the woman and her boyfriend strangulated him. After which the boyfriend left while Anupriya stayed at home with the body. It was only next morning that she complained of her husband's death saying that it happened due to excessive drinking. 

According to Times of India (ToI) report, the woman claimed that her husband died of excessive drinking. But after police intervened and autopsy report, Anupriya confessed of killing her husband along with her boyfriend. 

The deceased has been identified as Suresh while her boyfriend Murasoli Maran. 

Suresh was working at a meat shop near Puzhal, who was trying to support his family despite financial crises. He married Anupriya in 2014 and has a 4-year-old child. 

During interrogation, Anupriya revealed that she recently got a job at a medical shop in Kolathur. Her husband did not like her being busy on the phone for long hours which became a reason for their argument. There were times when he also raised his hands on her. After which Anupriya decided to kill him, so she took the help of her friend in committing the crime, ToI further added.

Currently, both the accused have been arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
