CHENNAI COUPLE DIES IN ROAD ACCIDENT AFTER CAR RAMS INTO PRIVATE BUS 

In a shocking case, a couple from Chennai's Nungambakkam area were killed in a road accident. The car in which they were travelling collided with a private bus near Maduranthakam early on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Ezhumalai, 60, and his wife Pushpa, 55, who were on their way to a relatives house to celebrate diwali. The car in which they were travelling was driven by Dinesh 27.

According to Times of India report, the incident took place at around 5:00 am on Sunday when the car was on Chennai-Trichy National Highway. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it rammed into a median. The car which was in full speed, ran on the opposite road and rammed into a private bus.

The bus driver tried his best to halt the bus by pressing the brakes but it only stopped after hitting a tree, ToI further reported.

The locals nearby rushed to the spot and saved the driver Dinesh who sustained severe injuries while the other two who were sitting in the backseat of the car died on the spot. 

Meanwhile, the Achirupakkam Police have registered a case in this matter and further investigations are on.
