On October 12 Chennai techie Subhasri lost her life due to the obstruction of the banner while she was racing past on Pallikaranai road. The incident created so many discussions and controversies across the state over banner cultures.

ADMK Jayagopal gets bail in Subhasri accident case

Following strong criticisms, a case was filed against one ADMK Ex-Councilor Jayagopal and his relative Meganathan for erecting the banner that took away the life of Subhasri.

Both of them were arrested on September 27 and their petition seeking bail was dismissed by the Chennai High Court. Meanwhile, the two of them filed a petition asking for bail once again. The petition was investigated in front of Judge Karthikeyan. The prosecutor side argued saying that the petitioner is in Jail for more than 45 days and is ready to obey the restrictions imposed by the court.

The Judge inquired if the charge sheet against the accused were filed or not for which the defendant said that it is in process. Therefore, the judge issued bail to Jayagopal and Meganathan. The judge also issued orders to Jayagopal and Meganathan to deposit Rs 25 thousand to Chennai Cancer Institute and Stanley Hospital. 

Until Alandoor court summons, the Judge asked Jayagopal and Meganathan to stay in Madurai and show their presence by signing at the Madurai police station daily.
