IPL 2022: DINESH KARTHIK’S FINISHING SKILLS ON THE SAME LEVEL AS DHONI, SAYS RCB CAPTAIN!

Bangalore captain Du Plessis has said that Dinesh Karthik has the same level of finishing skills as Dhoni.

The 13th league match of the IPL series was played at Wankhede Stadium yesterday. Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets in the match. Bangalore, who had set a target of 169 for victory, stumbled and lost wickets in succession. So the game slowly slipped out of the hands of the RCB team.

Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed, who were paired at the time, played an action-packed partnership. Dinesh Karthik scored 44 off 23 balls with 7 fours and 1 six while Shahbaz Ahmed scored 45 off 26 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Bangalore won by 173 runs in 19.1 overs.

Dinesh Karthik has been lauded by the captain of the Bangalore team. Speaking on the occasion, he said, ‘“I see a lot of similarities to obviously so MS’s, who's the best finisher in the game. From what I’ve seen from DK this year, is on that same level. I’ve played against DK for a long time, and he’s always been a very dangerous player. But the side of him that I’m seeing now, his composure, his clarity, that he just knows what he’s gonna do. That is a remarkable skill, not a lot of people in the world has that ability to stay calm when everything is going around you, and it’s noisy and it’s pressure, just to know this is what I’m gonna do, this is how I’m gonna do it. And it just looks in control the whole time, so at the moment he is as good as you can get from a finisher point of view. DK, the veteran, Mr High School himself, so. He’s so clear with his current plan at the moment, just know how to get us across the line. That gives us a lot of confidence that we know that when we’re in position we've got him still to come. But yes, a big part of us as a group is making sure that we always believe, we always keep believing that someone will do it for us. So to do it in two games in a row will be great for the group, will be great confidence for us. Even when we’re in a bad position, we can still fight and come back,” he added.

Du Plessis has played for the CSK team for almost 10 years. He was the main reason for the Chennai team to win many matches. This time, the Bangalore team took on Du Plessis in the ongoing IPL auction. He was also appointed as the captain of the Bangalore team.
