The 13th season of the Indian Premier League is all set to begin on September 19 at the UAE. While all the teams have reached and are under a bio-bubble. The Chennai Super Kings fans have been disappointed after Vice-captain Suresh Raina returned to India and announced that he will not be seen in action this season. However, new hopes are now in store.
Raina has been constantly spotted training on several social media platforms. In pictures he can be seen working out with dumbbells and also running. One of his post’s caption also read, “No Excuses.”
According to reports, Raina had hinted that he could head back to the UAE if the situation improves. His absence in the UAE is something that the team is trying to deal with. Shane Watson yesterday, spoke about Raina’s departure and about how it is important for the team to find someone who can replace him for this season.
The final decision regarding Suresh Raina’s reconciliation with the team later in the season, lies in the hands of Narayanaswami Srinivasan, Owner of the franchise, Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the Head Coach Stephen Fleming. Even if he returns, it is unlikely that he will be playing the opening game scheduled next Saturday, against the defending champions, Mumbai Indians.
