The defending champions Mumbai Indians has released a total of 12 players with the IPL trading window coming to a close. The release includes former India batsman Yuvraj Singh, who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket earlier this year.

Apart from Yuvraj players who have been released include Evin Lewis, Adam Milne, Jason Behrendorff, Beuran Hendricks, Ben Cutting, Yuvraj Singh, Barinder Sran, Rasikh Salam, Pankaj Jaswal and Alzarri Joseph. The franchise had earlier traded Mayank Markhande and Siddesh Lad.

“Going into this December’s auctions for the 2020 edition, Mumbai Indians now have the option of filling up slots for 5 domestic and 2 foreign players during the day-long event in Kolkata,” MI's statement read.

On the other hand, the franchise has retained veteran seamer Lasith Malinga, Rohit Sharma, all-rounders Hardik Pandya and his brother Krunal Pandya, Rahul Chahar, Ishan Kishan, pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Quinton de Kock and Surya Kumar Yadav.
