South Africa had a sad departure from India after losing three straight matches in India. After Team India swept South Africa by 3-0 in a Test series, captain and skipper Faf du Plessis admitted that his team had been outplayed and lacked mental strength.

Faf du Plessis Gets Roasted For Statement On Toss, fans slam

Not forgetting, Faf du Plessis also had a bad luck with the toss. He took the help of a proxy captain in Temba Bavuma to change the fortunes for his team at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi but sadly, no good luck stuck to them.

Recently, while speaking to ESPNCricinfo. Faf du Plessis was quoted saying that "Every Test match, they bat first, they score 500, they declare when it's dark, they get three wickets when it's dark and when day three starts, you're under pressure. It was like copy and paste in every Test match".

"(If the toss is removed) Then away teams will have a better chance. In South Africa I don't mind that, we bat on green tops anyway," he further added.

These comments didn't go down well with fans on social media and they did not leave a moment to slam him. Fans called these allegations as lame excuses after loosing to Team India.

Further speaking on the issue, Du Plessis asserted that he was committed to continue as captain even after going through the tough phase in life. "The toughest period in my cricket journey. We need to be resolved as soon as possible. Also, the most important thing right now is clarity. Someone needs to make decisions, the director of cricket first and then filter down so everyone else can make decisions," he said.
