Ever since India’s unexpected exit from the ICC World Cup 2019, there has been constant speculation regarding the retirement of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. However, we have seen so many noted personalities including Indian Skipper Virat Kohli dismissing the speculations as there was no official confirmation from MSD, himself. Now the recent report from the Times of India has cleared the air on the most trending topic in the Indian cricket.

DHONI’s guidance will be needed by the Indian Team

The sources have reportedly told TOI, “MS will not go to the West Indies. Going forward, he will not travel with the team within India or overseas as the first-choice wicketkeeper. Rishabh Pant will take over and there will be a grooming window for him until he settles down. During this time, MS will help in the transition. For all you know, he could be a part of the 15 but not part of the 11. This team needs a guiding hand on multiple fronts and wishing MS away is clearly unhealthy”.

Therefore, it looks MSD will be a frontrunner to guide the Indian team with all his great skills and proven expertise in the game. TOI also revealed sources saying, “When it comes to career graph dhoni always prefers to stand ahead than other people”. In fact, we could relate this statement with MSD’s earlier decisions where he unexpectedly retired from Test cricket and later handed over the captaincy to Virat Kohli.

On the IPL front, the Chennai Super Kings skipper has already been roped in by the franchise in 2018 for a three-year term. Obviously, there could be no speculation of his retirement when it comes to IPL until his contract with the CSK franchise gets over. Reportedly TOI sources have said that "MSD will also be needed by CSK franchise since he has a decade long association with the team".
