A man bit off his neighbour’s ear in a fit of rage after a verbal duel brewed between the two over drawing water from a tap. Mahendran, a 50-year-old wall painter bit off his neighbour and relative Rengaraj’s ear spat it off after the latter objected to the former filling two vessels of water from the tap. There, It was a general rule that each person could fill only one vessel. The incident took place near the Trichy collectorate. Mahendran was admitted to hospital while his ear was not found, police reportedly said.
