A Delhi youth who went on a trip to the Lonavla forest has been reported missing by the police.

Lonavla Forest is located near Pune in the state of Maharashtra. These forests are located between the Deccan Plateau and the Konkan Sea. The two hills in it attract a lot of tourists. It is not uncommon for the number of people coming to these forests to increase significantly during the monsoon season. Also, the caves here are very popular. But police say the forest has another face.

Since 2005 ..

Irfan Shah, a 24-year-old from Delhi, went trekking alone in the jungle last Friday. Police were then informed that he was missing. Police say they are working with a local organization to rescue him.

Due to the complex geography and dense jungle, some of the travelers to the forest occasionally disappear. According to the police, 600 people have been lost in the jungle since 2005.

Police official Sitaram Dhupal said, "It is not uncommon for travelers to go missing without knowing the nature of the terrain. However, this is the first time anyone has gone missing from the Duke Point area. Tourists are advised not to go around the forest alone without guides."

Anand Kawade, head of the local rescue organization Shivdurg, said more than 100 bodies had been recovered from the area in the past one year. Meanwhile, the disappearance of a young engineer from Delhi has shocked the people of the area.
