Sports have come to a standstill fearing the spread of the novel coronavirus, compelling everyone to stay indoors to fight this pandemic. Indian Cricketers have been actively taking to social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and so on, to educate the general public. Some have also been doing the best they can to raise funds to donate for this cause.

Migrant Worker Fainted on the Highway; Mohammed Shami Aided

Indian Cricketer Mohammed Shami revealed that he had helped a migrant worker, who was spotted outside his place of residence. While migrant workers across the country have been trying to travel home, extending the lockdown and closing transportation, has been a major cause for distress. While some protested in places like Bandra, Mumbai and Surat, Gujarat, others have begun to walk on the highways to figure out a way to go back home.

One such worker from Rajasthan had fainted on the highway outside Shami’s home. He spotted the man through his CCTV footage. "He was coming from Rajasthan. Just imagine he is supposed to go to Bihar which is so far from Lucknow too. He has no means to commute and I saw in my home CCTV camera that he fainted in hunger and was close to my door. So I provided him with food and helped him out," Shami said while going live on Instagram. He continued, "I am trying to help as much as I can. There are migrant workers here who are really struggling to meet ends. The highway is also near my house so I can see people having a tough time. I feel I should help and I am doing as much as possible.”
