A shocking and heartbreaking video is currently making headlines, where a person can be seen firing at an elephant. The incident was caught in Bandipur National Park and Tiger Reserve, Karnataka.

Forest Guards Firing At Elephant In Bandipur Forest Video Viral

This video grabbed the limelight, after actor Randeep Hooda took to social media and shared the clip, involving two forest officials and an elephant. “How’s this even possible? Is this really someone’s idea of fun?? Karnataka FD, please look into the matter urgently. The culprits need to be nabbed and punished immediately,” Hooda captioned his post. 

This video has garnered over 1.6 lakh views and over 2,500 retweets. Hours after the video going viral, Hooda came online again and informed that the incident took place on March 7 and the two people involved in the case are Rahim and Umesh. 

In his post, the actor explained that, Rahim, who is a temporary staffer of the Karnataka Forest Department, shot at the charging elephant and has been sacked. While, the other, named Umesh, who shot the video is a permanent employee of the Karnataka Forest Department and is under investigation.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka Forest Department also replied to Hooda's tweet saying, “Action is already initiated. One employee is removed and action against another will be initiated after enquiry. Enquiry is being done.” They also confirmed that the elephant was unhurt in the firing as the bullet went above its head.
