TVS Sundaram Clayton declares non-working days, Oct, Nov

The official letterhead of Sundaram-Clayton Limited (SCL) surfaced on Twitter stating that October 29 to November 2 will be non-working days for major plants in Chennai while October 29 to October 31 has been given for the company’s Hosur plant.

The letter also has it that the decision was taken "due to business slowdown across sectors". The increasing non-working days has caused a worry in the automobile sector which is already in a struggling phase.

As per Business Standard, Sundaram-Clayton declared October 1 as non-working day and earlier in August 2019, the two-wheeler and three-wheeler maker announced that its major plants will work for only 5 days in selected weeks of the month.

TVS SCL has its major manufacturing plants in Chennai - Padi, Mahendra World City and Oragadam apart from Hosur's industrial hub and a facility in Ridgeville, South Carolina (United States).
