A lot said and reviewed about Thala's Mankatha. Firstly, I was not an Ajith fan. But now, yes I am. Ajith is well known for speaking his mind but I really looked up to him when he had the audacity to disband his fan club... KUDOS!!! Well, I want to write about Mankatha’s music. The first time I heard Mankatha songs after its music release, I felt Yuvan could have done a better job. But after watching the movie, I loved all the songs and BGM. I’m not sure if it was ‘Ajith factor’ that gave life to Mankatha’s music.

1)      Vilayadu Mankatha – This peppy song is the first song of the movie. Premji Amaren with Yuvan, Ranjith and Sucharita has enlightened the song brining out the substance of the movie. Of course Lakshmi Rai was smoking hot.  As the chorus says, it is “Mankatha  Da’

2)       Nee.. Naan – I could feel that SPB Charan has got his dad’s base voice. No words to explain Bhavatharani’s mellifluous voice. The mood of the song perfectly syncs with the CG. And it was a good thought to use the same CG effect when character Sumanth dies.

3)      Vaada Bin Ladaa- I felt this song is the ground rule for a movie MUST have a duet of lead pair. But I was carried away by Ajith’s suave style of dancing with ease. CG needs a special mention.  Krish and Suchitra are always my favorite singers. Well done Yuvan for handshaking the song with different music style. It is a feast to hear.

4)       Machi open the Bottill (Bottle)- Wowww…. This peppy song is vivacious.. makes one to dance. Should I mention about Padmasree Vaali’s casual lyric writing style.  Befitting lyrics to affluence of the movie.

5)      Nanbane- Again it is Padmasree Vaali. Unpretentious lyrics!!!  The way Yuvan scored and sung is simply awesome. Madhusree, this lady’s voice has got temperament. Her voice is the best fit for the song to bring out the agony.  The music of the song depicted the friendship between a boy and a girl. When Madhusree’s voice ends with agony, Yuvan's voice comes out fresh consoling his girl.

6)      Balle lakka- Somehow I feel that is song is unnecessary for the script. Yet nice attempt. Singers Karthik, Vijay and Anusha have done justice.
