madrasapattinam-vijay-21-07-11

Last year, I went to the theatre to watch Madrasapattinam with least expectation and I stepped out with satisfaction. It was remarkable for Vijay to carve his first movie with such passion. Days gone by and I heard Vijay is doing another movie with Vikram.  I felt the lurch in my heart. I actually looked forward for its release date. Thus, I went to the theatre with high expectation, and trust me, I stepped out glad for Tamil cinema.

Although it is inspired from an English movie, the character portrayals were well moved by the director. Even though the movie went leisurely, I never moved the eyes from the screen, except when my popcorns were finished and I looked down for more. But the point is, the story was interesting as all the scenes were creating an urge to watch the next. One prime reason that I really enjoyed watching this movie is because the storyline is out of the blue from any other typical Tamil movies that have been released lately. There’s nothing much for me to explain that term as I believe all of you would understand how a typical Tamil movie looks like.

Truly, I am not a Vikram fan. Even though when he did all the great movies before, I was just interested in his acting skills but not to follow him as a fan. This movie certainly stirs my heart I am looking forward for his next ventures, as a fan. His acting is flawless throughout the movie even when the camera is not focused on him. In par with the actor himself, the little girl certainly engraved a place in the audience heart. Her acting skill even though is stuttered at moments, for a girl of her age, it is great enough. Not to say, her cute appearance certainly a plus point for the screen. Anushka and Santhanam have done a good job together and it is imperative to say that both of them has a positive chemistry on the screen. Amala Paul on the other hand also weighed equally with others performance.

The movie’s setting was in Ooty which resembles cool and cold place and certain aspects such as chocolate factory and his house on the hill adds warmth in the movie. The cameramen need to be credited for the different angles he used in the movie. Certainly, the screen was appealing with the veracity of the music. GV Prakash has done a great job composing both the background and the songs for the movie. His music certainly is a plus point and he really nailed it at the emotional scenes.

I have to say although we can predict the flow of the story while we watching it, there are scenes that will keep you entertained throughout the movie. So, I will certainly suggest you to watch the movie in the theater as it will please all kind of age and both genders.
