"Giri" - Review:

Sundar C and Arjun team up to give an action sequel...

Actress Kusboo has produced the movie "Giri" for her husband Sundar C, by the banner name of Avni cinemax, which is the combined name of their daughters Avanthika and Ananthika respectively.

Arjun stars as the hero of the film. Like most Arjun film's, this film too involves in a heavy duty action.

The story of the film begins, as two Landlords of two villages goes to fight and quarrels like in most Tamil film's. There is always rivalry between the villagers and mostly between the two landlords, played by FEFSI Vijayan and Vinu Chakaravarthy. On one such fight, Vijayan's son gets killed and Vijayan Vows to kill Vinu chakravarthy's son.

Fearing the death of his son, Vinu Chakravarthy packs his son, who is a child to a safe location known to no one. Days pass, as the rivalry still exists between the two and Vijayan still waiting for his kill. Meanwhile Arjun, who is a son of Vinu Chakaravarthy's servant helps him in his difficulties.

Then one day, the son of Vinu Chakravarthy returns to his own village as a police officer, who is played by Prakash Raj, He wants to settle the quarrel between the two villages. But, his intentions are put in vain as he get killed by Vijayan's gang. before his death, he asks Arjun to save his family residing in Chennai. Arjun departs the village to full fill his owe. Whether he saved Prakash Raj's family and whether he was able to bring peace between the two villages is the rest of the story.

The film is full of violence, gore and brutality. Some may feel relieved by a small faction of comedy stuff by Vadivelu. But still the violence level is more than usual in the film.

The pairs for Arjun are Reema Sen and Ramya, who were used sparingly in the film. Not much scope for them in the film. Arjun does his usual fights well and good in the film. Prakash Raj, Vinu Chakravarthy and Devyani have given their usual best. Iman's music is not much to talk about.

The story of the film is very well predictable to the climax. This film is not Sundar C's exceptional best. He was confused on satisfying the Telugu and the Tamil viewers at the same time (This film is also produced in Telugu), bringing in an average film.

"Giri" - not much in the shelf.
