Vishal's Irumbu Thirai, directed by debutant PS Mithran, stars Samantha as the lead heroine and Arjun as the antagonist. Robo Shankar and Delhi Ganesh play important roles in this film, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by George C Williams. The movie is touted for Pongal 2018 release.
Vishal took to his Twitter space to update about the film's progress, "Shooting with both Stunt & Dance Choreographers @ the same time for the opening song of #IrumbuThirai .... Good Fun@Samanthaprabhu2 @akarjunofficial @thisisysr @AntonyLRuben @george_dop @Psmithran."

The first look of Vishal and Arjun’s Irumbu Thirai has released. It has Vishal’s face staring out from a digital screen, and Arjun is seen looking at this face of Vishal. It is directed by PS Mithran and has Samantha playing the leading lady.
Nivetha Pethuraj, on seeing this impressive first look, took to Twitter and said, “Nolathi Nolan direct panna ipdi dhan irukkum first look! Stunning @george_dop @Psmithran @VffVishal All the best team #IrumbuThirai #christophernolan”. A comparison on a light note and wishes to the team from the Tik Tik Tik actress.
