Jaya Prada joined the Telugu Desam Party in 1994, following NT Rama Rao's personal invite. In 2004, she left the TDP to join the Samjawadi party. But in 2009, she quit and joined Rashtriya Lok Dal, which was floated by Amar Singh and herself.
