Although they hog the limelight more than even a movie’s hero, women are only best known in front of the camera than behind it. Not that they are absolutely unknown in other areas of film making, but as in any other field there are very few flag bearers. Even if they did, it would be in the most popular category of direction, the obvious choice of costume designing or the intellectually stimulating script writing. This is an effort at stocktaking those multi-faceted women in the field of cinema.
