KOLLYWOOD’S FILMFARE ROLL OF HONOR FOR ACTORS

Ajith
Ajith
* Filmfare Best Actor Award for Vaali (1999)
* Filmfare Best Actor Award for Villain (2002)
* Filmfare Best Actor Award for Varalaru: History of Godfather (2006)

Given the right kind of opportunity, Ajith can rock the screen; as he proved repeatedly under the experienced hands of KS Ravikumar twice, both Villain and Varalaaru added a huge amount of respect to Ajith, the actor, for playing the mentally retarded adult and the effeminate dancer respectively, sticking to commercial requirements and not getting overly dramatic. But, the most unanimous decision to hand the Filmfare to Ajith should have come (one suspects) for his unforgettable act in Vaali; really villainy brings the best out of most actors. Wonder where such roles have gone these days? Hardly get to see Ajith attempting much variety!
