Karthik Kumar was a typical American Mappillai who failed to get the girl in movies like Alaipayudhe and Kanda Naal Mudhal. However, he is different from others of his ilk as he brought a lot of charm to his portrayals and came across as endearing. The actor has successfully broken away from the American Mappillai mould and has experimented a lot with his roles to critical acclaim but we loved him best as the cute and witty guy in Alaipayudhe whom we almost rooted for. After all it is not his fault that Madhavan has dimples to die for!
