“I WANTED TO CELEBRATE SIVAKARTHIKEYAN”, VIJAY SETHUPATHI

The trailer and the poster of Vijay Sethupathi starrer Rekka was noticed for an interesting feature. The Orange Mittai actor had demonstrated the Maan Karate pose of Sivakarthikeyan.

In an exclusive interview to behindwoods, Sethupathi explains, “There is a song in the film, which was to be shot in a theatre and the director was considering the movies of many stars as the backdrop. But, earlier films have used the likes of Sivaji, MGR, Ajith and Vijay.

Although Sivakarthikeyan and I share a good rapport, we are considered competitors. I wanted to celebrate him as someone belonging to my times and I felt that would be fresh and apt. I chose Maan Karate and the pose too. It was my idea”.
