Vetrimaaran, who directed Nitish in Asuran, spoke about the latter’s demise and said that he had known the actor since Puthuppettai days and as per the information he had, doctors said that he’d get better in two days. But this morning, I came to know he passed away, he added.

“He had a lot of ups and downs in his career. He told me post Asuran, he was a getting a lot of opportunities and was happy about it. It is a great loss to his family and friends,” he said and added that the actor had told him that he wanted to do more movies, courtesy, the good name he garnered post Asuran.

He further said – “This is the time we need to be careful and safe. They say that if you adhere to the mask as much as possible, you can control the disease to a great extent. In Japan, it has been found that wearing a mask can prevent 70 per cent of infections. The mask should be applied properly, without leaving any space below the nose. Hands should be kept clean.”

He added, “Isolate if found to be positive. Consult with the most trusted doctors. Treatment will only help us if we approach the doctor quickly at the right time. Doctors insist on getting vaccinated. Vaccination helps us.”

“Young people leaving home may be physically fit. But, at home, there are children, elders. Be responsible. Wear a mask. Your life is more important to your family than to yourself! Coronavirus can only be overcome if we are responsible. Be safe!” he concluded.
