The team of Maari 2 had released the official logo of the film on New Year 2018 and had revealed the cast and crew. The movie has Dhanush and Sai Pallavi playing the leads, while Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Tovino Thomas and Robo Shankar play important roles.

Actor Tovino Thomas, who is a very popular star in Kerala, has joined the team for the shoot. He took to Twitter and tweeted: "Joined the sets of #Maari2! Amazing Team , overwhelming experience:) @dhanushkraja @directormbalaji"
