Tamil Nadu Producer Council withdraws the Kollywood strike

We had reported earlier that, the Tamil Nadu Producer Council aka TFPC headed by Vishal, had proposed a strike from May 30th with regard to the demands they had placed to the Central and State Governments respectively.

 

These demands included reduction of the GST tax (announced at 28%) that would further affect the producers who are already battling issues like piracy, that kill the movie business. However, the latest announcement that has come in from Vishal, after a meeting with the TFPC members is that, the strike has been called off.

 

RK Selvamani, President of FEFSI union is said to be happy that this strike proposed for May 30th has been called off. However, he is said to have stated that if such a strike must be implemented in the future, for the sake of betterment and change, all the associations must participate in it and stay united to achieve what is required.
