Director Rajesh made his debut in Tamil cinema with Siva Manasula Sakthi. The film, starring actor Jiiva, Anuya and Santhanam garnered rave reviews. Following the reception of the comedy scenes featured in the film, people started flocking to the theatres as a family.
It is being said that Rajesh and Jiiva are joining hands for a project, the shoot of which will commence from January 14, 2021. An official announcement regarding this would be up soon.
On the work front, Jiiva was last seen in Gypsy and is part of the sports biopic 83, a magnum opus that retells the journey of India's win in the 1983 Cricket World Cup. 83 is directed by 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' director Kabir Khan. Ranveer Singh plays the role of the then Indian captain Kapil Dev.
Jiiva essays the role of former cricketer Kris Srikkanth in the film. The Tamil version of 83 will be presented by Kamal Haasan under the banner Raaj Kamal Films International.
