Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut’s Rangoon lands in trouble before release

A lot of films have been facing problems related to legal issues prior to their release. The bans, delays and cuts in these movies have become so frequent these days that it looks like every other flick dealing with a volatile issue seems to land in some form of trouble or the other.

Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut starrer Rangoon directed by Vishal Bhardwaj is the latest to face problems now. Reports suggest that the much-awaited film which is set in the backdrop of World War 2 has had Wadia Movietone Pvt Ltd filing a complaint against the makers. It is said to be regarding copyright infringement issue.

Roy Wadia, MD of the firm has claimed that Kangana’s character of Julia in the film is inspired by Australian actress Mary Evans who is known as Fearless Nadia. Apparently, the lawsuit mentions that the makers have infringed Nadia’s character by using her costumes, catchphrase and poses.

Some other movies that have faced a ban or delay in recent times include Vishwaroopam, Raees, Thalaivaa, Inam, and Udta Punjab.
