Samuthirakani speaks about story theft controversy

Recently, a writer named Varun Rajendran had claimed that the story of Sarkar is similar to the story Sengol written, and registered with the Writers' Association by him in 2007. The issue was solved amicably outside the court, with Murugadoss saying that he'll include an acknowledgement card at the start of the film.

When actor Samuthirakani was asked his views about this, he said: "I don't look at this as theft. There is nothing wrong in getting parallel thoughts. For example, I called Sivakarthikeyan and narrated a story. He said half the story matches with Rajini Murugan. In fact, I had planned Thambi Ramaiah for a role and Sivakarthikeyan wanted me to play the same role in Rajini Murugan.

Both of us had the same thought. And I told him, I'll do my film after 5 years, and signed up for the movie. The word theft is wrong. It is just the same thought. There are a lot of things like this. One person should not hurt another. People should talk to each other and settle for a compromise. If they sit and talk, the issue will be resolved."

Samuthirakani has had a couple of releases in October, namely Aan Thevathai, and Vada Chennai. His role in Vada Chennai received a lot of praise and appreciation.
