Actress Samantha Akkineni is riding on a high after her latest film Oh! Baby is garnering positive reviews and doing well at the box office. The film was directed by BV Nandini Reddy, and produced by D. Suresh Babu, Sunitha Tati, T.G.Vishwa Prasad, Hyunwoo Thomas Kim under the banners Suresh Productions, People's Media Factory Guru Films and Kross Pictures.
The film is the official Telugu remake of the Korean film Miss Granny. Recently, in an interview, the director of Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, had mentioned his opinion on what love is.
He said: "If you don't have the liberty to slap each other, then I don't see any love there," this statement wasn't received well by a section of the public, including Samantha. She took to Twitter and called it an expression of Toxic masculinity.
Soon, the fans of the film started trolling her by saying she is showing double standards, since she had tweeted positive about Arjun Reddy during the time of release.
Responding to these trolls, she said “Liking the film .. and disagreeing with a comment are two different things. I loved the story of one ‘Arjun Reddy’ .. not the generalization that love means having the liberty of slapping people around."
