It was only recently last year that it was officially announced that Commander 66 was going to direct Vamsi Padipalli. Produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, it has been reported that actor Prakash Raj will be teaming up with Thalapathy Vijay. According to reports, Rashmika Mandana will be paired with Vijay in the film.

According to credible sources, the shooting of the new film Thalapathy 66 will start from the second of April.
