VS: Are you training your children for the stage?

AR: Raheema and Khatija have a very difficult life. The whole world is watching them. It could be psychologically affecting. We have to lead them to something. Remove the awkwardness.

VS: Let us talk about your upcoming projects. Tell us how Cobra has been shaping up.

AR: Ajay (Gnanamuthu, director) is very clear in what we wants. He said he likes melody, not jazz. Directors know the pulse of the audience. That’s why heroes are giving them call-sheets. Of course, we can guide them with our experience as and when.

VS: Tell us about 99 songs.

AR: We premiered at the Busan International Film Festival. There was an embargo on reviews. Tweets and blogs have been appreciative. A week before the lockdown, the trailer had released. It is meant for the cinematic experience. We will hold on. The distributors who saw the Tamil version were also happy and said it looks like a straight Tamil film.

VS: Tell us about your passion for technology.

AR: We seem to be followers. Following the West. The Japanese. We don’t seem to be inventing anything. That’s why I have invested in Le Musk. It’s Virtual Reality.
