OFFICIAL: MANI RATNAM'S PONNIYIN SELVAN PART 1 RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED WITH A NEW POSTER!

The shooting for the film took place in several phases in many cities like Pondicherry, Hyderabad, Gwalior, Maheshwar, Pollachi, Udumalai and Mysore. Recently, it was announced that the shooting of the film wrapped up completely. Post-production work is going on in full swing. 

The film features Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Trisha, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Kishore, Jayaram, Lal, Rahman, Ashwin. The poster of the film was released recently and was well received. Sreekar Prasad is handling the editing department while Ravi Varman will be handling the cinematography for the film. AR Rahman has  composed for the film.

Jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, the film will be released in two parts. The first installment of "Ponniyin Selvan-1" has been officially announced to hit the screens on September 30, 2022.
