Maya S Krishnan responds to sexual harassment claims against her

In the wake of the Me Too movement, many stories have been reported. Social media has been burning with issues relating to sexual harassment and has also seen many celebrities come to the limelight with claims against them.

The most recent of these allegations has been that of young budding theater artist Ananya Ramprasad against popular theater and film actress Maya S Krishnan (Magalir Mattum and Dhruva Natchathiram fame).

It is to be noted that Maya was earlier brought to the forefront by Krishnakumar of The Little Theater (TLT) after an anonymous post was made against that culture of TLT.

Ananya took to her Facebook page to call out Maya for having mentally harassed her and manipulated her into being in a sexual relationship. The post was widely noticed and Maya's response was awaited. The post can be viewed here: https://www.facebook.com/ananya.ramaprasad/posts/1873564156067572

Now, the Dhruva Natchathiram actress has now opened up with her side of the issue and has denied all the allegations against her. She took to her FB page to share the following:

"This is in response to allegations against me posted by Ananya Ramaprasad on 30th October 2018 on facebook. Everyone reaching out to hear my side of the story, people from the press trying to get in touch and anyone else keen on hearing the truth - this statement is for you.

I deny all the allegations mentioned in the post. I had not mentioned anything about Ananya previously, other than to closest friends and family, as I had considered the mental health of the
18 year old and was trying to help her to the best of my abilities. However I see now that trying to safeguard her, considering her to be a child was a mistake, I will not repeat that anymore.

The account has manipulated the facts of the incident to make me look like the abuser, which is not the case. I am open to assisting and answering all questions and will be entirely cooperative with the legal authorities, and the actions they are taking to unearth the truth. I have already filed a case against my abuser and the organisation that named and defamed me, and inquiries are underway by the police, as of October 17th 2018. Ananya’s post, defaming me has also been brought to the notice of the officers and authorities who are investigating my case.

I strongly condemn such immoral and unethical behaviour on the part of Ananya and the organization, which has and continues to cause mental trauma to me and my family.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out in support. It is a stressful and traumatic time for me but I believe I will come out on top, as I have nothing to fear and hide  I am happy to await the legal course of action and let the truth prevail.
